Getting There

Arusha is served by Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), about 45 minutes from the city center, with direct or connecting flights from major hubs in Europe, the Middle East, and East Africa. Arusha Airport (ARK), closer to town, handles domestic and regional flights. Most of our safari and Kilimanjaro climb packages include airport transfers to your Arusha hotel.

Best Time to Visit

Arusha's mild highland climate makes it pleasant year-round, but plan around your onward safari:

• June–October (dry season): Best for combining Arusha with Serengeti/Ngorongoro game viewing
• December–February: Warm and dry, good for Kilimanjaro climbs departing from Arusha
• March–May: Rainy season — quieter in town, lower prices, but wetter park roads
