5-Day Kilimanjaro Marangu Route

Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania 5 Days - 4 Nights

Location

Mount Kilimanjaro

Duration

5 Days - 4 Nights

Overview

The 5-Day Marangu Route, sometimes called the "Coca-Cola Route," is the fastest way to summit Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895m) while still sleeping in mountain huts rather than tents. It follows the same path as our 6-Day Marangu itinerary but without the extra acclimatization night at Horombo Hut — making it a popular choice for climbers on a tighter schedule or budget.

Because this route climbs more quickly, it carries a lower summit success rate than our 6-Day option. We recommend it for climbers who are already acclimatized, have prior high-altitude trekking experience, or simply cannot extend their trip. For the best chance of reaching Uhuru Peak, ask us about upgrading to the 6-Day Marangu Route.

5-Day Kilimanjaro Marangu Route — FAQs

Everything you need to know about this tour. Still curious? Get in touch.

It's the shortest and most budget-friendly way to summit via Marangu, and a solid choice for climbers with limited time or prior high-altitude experience. Because it has no dedicated acclimatization day, it has a lower summit success rate than the 6-Day version, which we recommend for first-time climbers where possible.
