Kilimanjaro Day Hike Marangu Route

Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha, followed by a scenic drive to Marangu Gate, the main entrance to Kilimanjaro National Park. After completing park registration and meeting your professional mountain guide, you will begin hiking through the lush rainforest of Mount Kilimanjaro. The trail gradually ascends through dense vegetation filled with giant trees, ferns, and a variety of bird species, offering excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography. After approximately 3 to 4 hours of trekking, you will reach Mandara Hut at 2,700 meters, where you can enjoy a packed lunch surrounded by the beautiful mountain environment. From there, you may take an optional short walk to Maundi Crater, which offers spectacular views of northern Tanzania and Kenya on clear days. After exploring the area, you will descend through the rainforest, enjoying more of Kilimanjaro’s unique ecosystem along the way. Upon returning to Marangu Gate, you will receive a day hike certificate before meeting your driver for the transfer back to your hotel, bringing an unforgettable Mount Kilimanjaro day adventure to a close.
